HCBF’s health fairs are a great way to connect Harbor residents to vital community resources, such as screenings for asthma and diabetes, nutrition and healthcare enrollment, dental and vision exams, physical fitness and recreational opportunities, and more.
We’re asking for your support to keep these health fairs going strong! HCBF has been selected by Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) as a recipient for the annual “Muslim Youth Against Hunger” campaign. Each year, AMYA raises funds to support the 50 million Americans who currently live in poverty. HCBF will receive a portion of all funds raised this year.
How did HCBF spend last year’s AMYA donation?
We used all funds raised in this campaign last year for our San Pedro health fair. In August, HCBF teamed up with Toberman Neighborhood Center for the Back-2-School Family Food Fest. The fair featured over 50 organizations, including healthy food, nutrition demonstrations, recreational resources, respiratory diagnosis and treatment, free haircuts and backpacks for students, and plenty more. Over 500 San Pedro residents directly benefited from these services. View photos from the Toberman’s health fair
